AWNEWS ORGANIZATION

General

By accessing or utilizing any portions of AWNews.org ("Web
Site"), you ("User") agree to the following terms
and conditions. Should you disagree with any of the following conditions,
it is beyond your rights to utilize our Web Site. AWNews is an American
owned and operated web site, conforms to US law and publishes under
constitutional rights.

Web Site

AWNews is not responsible for any damage or modification to personal
property or software used to access the AWNews Web Site. AWNews
DOES NOT publish any content that will potentially cause such a
complication, and makes every effort to develop the Web Site under
compatibility standards.

Web Site Availability

AWNews does not guarantee the availability of the AWNews Web Site
at all times. Downtimes may be caused by, but are not limited to;
server complications, site-wide updates requiring temporary closure,
database error, or any other form of technical difficulty.

Privacy

The AWNews Web Site is based on a Portal System in which may utilize
cookie data file(s), most prominently in the process of keeping
a user logged into the Web Site. Some content may be cached to your
equipment for faster access on your next visit. The Web Site collects
a limited amount of information upon registration, much of which
is optional. Little to no information will be utilized by AWNews
Administration. E-mail addresses are not used for any purpose other
than applicable AWNews mailings or Admin-User contact, they are
not sold or given away to any other organization or company. Any
information or content you submit to AWNews is a voluntary act of
the User and AWNews is not responsible for the release of information,
caused by the User. Passwords used to register or login to the Web
Site are stored in an encrypted format in the secured Web Site database.
General information about your system (Operating system, browser
type, etc.) may be collected upon visiting and exiting the Web Site.
This information is viewed only by AWNews Administration. Your IP
address may be obtained by our Web Site, which will be used only
in the event of a disturbance in which we find it necessary to ban
your IP(s) from our Web Site as an attempt to protect our other
Users.

Our Copyright

Most all content shown on the AWNews Web Site is property of AWNews
unless otherwise noted, and is not to be used anywhere else without
consent of AWNews Administration. Most content submitted to the
Web Site by web or e-mail becomes property of AWNews.

Content

AWNews cannot always guarantee the accuracy of information on the
Web Site. AWNews also does not guarantee that the provided information
is current or relevant to date.

Updates

AWNews updates content held within the Web Site once per week.
This content is published and the Web Site is modified late Saturday
night AND SOMETIMES into early Sunday morning DEPENDING ON YOUR
TIME ZONE. Attempts are made to assure new content is available
by MOST time zones each Sunday, however, AWNews CANNOT GUARANTEE
AN UPDATE WILL BE PERFORMED EVERY SUNDAY OR THE TIME IT MAY BE COMPLETED.
AWNews reserves the right to bypass weekly updates should there
be complications with any aspect of the update process: human publishers
OR equipment.

User Submitted Content

AWNews Web Site frequently features content PROVIDED BY USERS OF
THE WEB SITE. AWNews publishers reserve the right to correct spelling
and grammatical errors, and format content for conformity. HOWEVER,
WE MAY ALLOW SEVERAL TYPES OF CONTENT TO BE PUBLISHED THAT YOU MAY
OR MAY NOT BE INTERESTED IN OR AGREE WITH. WE MAKE NO GUARANTEE
THAT USER SUBMITTED CONTENT WILL BE EDITED. IT WILL REMAIN INTACT
UNLESS IT IS IN CLEAR VIOLATION OF AWNews TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
USER SUBMITTED CONTENT IS CLEARLY MARKED AS "USER CONTRIBUTED"
IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS. This denotes that the content WAS
NOT CREATED BY AWNews OR ITS STAFF. It is the responsibility of
the User submitting content to not include content which may be
copyrighted, and AWNews holds no liability for content unknowingly
published containing copyrighted material. Please see Submitting
Content for further information relevant to this topic. IN MOST
CASES, CONTENT OTHER THAN GENERAL PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL WHICH IS
DUPLICATED IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS BECOMES PROPERTY OF AWNEWS.

Opinions

The AWNews Web Site contains several features in which allow for
the opinions of users, affiliates, volunteers, and anyone whom accesses
the web site or submits any type of content to us to be expressed.
AWNEWS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THE OPINIONS POSTED ON THE
AWNews Web Site UNDER ANY FEATURE MADE AVAILABLE ON THE Web Site.
Such features may pertain but are not limited to: Articles, Polls,
Article and Poll Comments, and Posts submitted on the AWNews Forum.
OPINIONS PRESENTED ON THE Web Site ARE NOT NECESSARILY THOSE OF
AWNews STAFF, INCLUDING ADMINISTRATION OR VOLUNTEERS UNLESS OTHERWISE
STATED. Articles containing opinions written personally by AWNews
Volunteers are that volunteers' opinions, however, they may not
represent the views of OTHER AWNews Staff.

Submitting Content

Users have the ability to submit content to the Web Site. In doing
so you agree to not include ANY HARMFUL FILE(S) WHICH ARE CAPABLE
OF CAUSING ANY DISRUPTION OR DAMAGE TO A USERS' PERSONAL PROPERTY
OR SOFTWARE. AWNews RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MODIFY OR REJECT ANY SUBMISSION
IT RECEIVES. WE MAY FORMAT TEXT, IMAGERY, AND OTHER SUBMITTED CONTENT
TO CONFORM WITH THE AWNews Web Site OR AWNews CONTENT GUIDELINES.

Content Guidelines

Content submitted by ANY USER must meet our standards. Should they
violate any of these standards we reserve the right to MODIFY, REJECT,
OR REMOVE ANY CONTENT IN VIOLATION. Our Guidelines closely match
those of Active Worlds, Inc. Content on the AWNews Web Site should
not contain;

-Any sexual material, particularly when used in a context that
is slanderous or otherwise vulgar,



-Content that is clearly and generally offensive, including any
variations of bigotry, racism, or hatred in addition to general
profanity usage not suitable for AWNews publishing,



-Any content with regards to violent or illegal acts of any kind,

-AND, under certain circumstances AWNews reserves the right to
reject content containing blatant, derogatory comments about Active
Worlds or Active Worlds, Inc. especially when legitimate reasons
are not stated.

Outside Content

The AWNews Web Site links to several outside sources (Web sites
and other media), which may appear on the AWNews Cover, in articles,
anywhere within the AWNews Content Pages (Portal System), or within
the AWNews Forum. AWNEWS CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENT OF
THESE ENTITIES. ANY CONTENT FOUND IN THEM IS NOT NECESSARILY WRITTEN
BY AWNews AND WE CANNOT VALIDATE THE LEGITAMACY OR SAFETY OF THESE
OUTSIDE SOURCES. INFORMATION FOUND ON OUTSIDE SOURCES DOES NOT NECESSARILY
REFLECT THE OPINIONS OF AWNews STAFF. IN CERTAIN CASES, IT IS THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PERSON WHOM PROVIDES THE LINK TO ENSURE THE
WEB SITE IS A RELEVANT AND NON-HARMFUL RESOURCE.

Promotional Materials

AWNews offers several pieces of promotional material. AWNews is
not responsible for the placement of such content, as it is the
Users' responsibility to determine appropriate locations to promote
the Web Site. It is against AWNews Copyright to modify any of our
promotional material without consent of AWNews Administration. AWNews
discourages hosting our promotional materials on servers other than
AWNews' own.

Programs

At times AWNews Organization may run community programs or events.
AWNews does not make any guarantees as to how long these programs
remain active. Each individual subsidiary of AWNews should contain
its own Terms and Conditions if applicable and such information
should be followed per availability.

Forum

The AWNews Forum is provided free to use by any AWNews User. When
posting, please consider our Web Site guidelines (See "Content
Guidelines"). The forum is moderated to an extent, to ensure
that all users are able to enjoy their experience within it.

User Input

AWNews accepts suggestions pertaining to current and future developments
of the Web Site. AWNews cannot guarantee that suggestions will be
placed in effect.

Volunteers

The Volunteer@AWNews program consists of Active Worlds participants,
current or past, who have chosen to offer some of their time to
contribute to the success of the AWNews Web Site as a registered
Team Member. Volunteers submit content on their own terms. IN MOST
CASES, CONTENT SUBMITTED BY VOLUNTEERS BECOMES PROPERTY OF AWNews.
AWNews reserves the right to terminate any Volunteer due to poor
quality of work or lack thereof. A current list of legitimate AWNews
Staff can be found at AWNews' About AWNews pages.

FURTHER, AWNews is not responsible for the actions of its Staff
when committed outside of the AWNews Organization.

Affiliations

AWNews has official partnerships with some organizations. These
organizations are usually capable of submitting content to us that
will not be branded as a User Contributed item. We may also conduct
other relations with them to either bring AWNews Users special promotions
or resources, or the affiliated organization may offer THEIR Users
or participants AWNews promotions. AWNews IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR
THE ACTIONS OR CONTENT PROVIDED BY ANY OF OUR PARTNERS. RESPECTIVELY,
AFILLIATES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACTIVITIES OR CONTENT CONDUCTED
OR PROVIDED BY AWNews UNLESS IT IS CONTENT WHICH THEY HAVE SUBMITTED
TO AWNews.

THE SOFTWARE NECESSARY TO ACCESS THE SYSTEM WHICH AWNEWS CONTENT
IS REFERENCED TO. WE MAKE NO CLAIMS TO PROVIDE OFFICIAL CONTENT
FOR Active Worlds, Inc. AND OUR CONTENT IS NOT REVIEWED BY Active
Worlds, Inc. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
