Help Wanted for Annual Easter Hunt
Storage World - Early Friday morning, community leader Andras issued a statement on the Active Worlds Forums concerning the fate of the 10th annual Multi-World Egg Hunt. Citing a lack of help or community interest, the event has been called into question this year, and Andras is reaching out for feedback concerning the matter.
Historically, the Egg Hunt has been a popular annual event, along with it's companion Present Hunt in the Christmas season. Typically drawing hundreds of visitors that compete for over 40 prizes, the Egg Hunt is a widespread scavenger hunt; eggs or presents are scattered across a plethora of participating worlds and participants have the span of a weekend to find as many as possible.
The hunting experience varies from world to world; some worlds just dump presents in a field with varying point values and unleash unfortunate hunters to develop Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, while others go great strides to make elaborate mazes or puzzles for hunters to solve with a high-value present awaiting them. I have long criticized the poor quality of hunting some of the participating worlds provide, however the competitive nature of the event more than makes up for that.
Overall, my experience with the multi-world hunts has been very enjoyable and I've seen them draw a lot of attention to the competing worlds. As a hunter I've carefully explored nooks and crannies of worlds I would have otherwise never visited, and am now appreciative of some of the work and design that went into them. To any world owners reading this, I would highly recommend you take the time to participate in this event - there is no better advertising than to have people come to your world in search for prizes!
Fun as they may be, waning community interest has put this Egg Hunt into question. This 10th Annual Egg Hunt was scheduled for Easter of last year until things took a turn for the worst as Andras suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. Due to this turn of events, the event was postponed and subsequently canceled.
As someone who has seen these events play out year-after-year, I believe it would hurt us as a community to let this event pass by. It brings attention to very valuable worlds in the community and brings us together for what has become an annual tradition in Active Worlds.
If you have any time at all to give this Easter season, I would encourage you to reply to this forum thread or contact Andras directly. I am sure that any help offered would be taken, and support from the community greatly appreciated.

Update:
Andras has opted to go on with the Egg Hunt this year, and is still looking for help.
More information can be found at the official site for the 10th annual Egg Hunt. ;)

Yeah, suppose so...
Same difference, though. But with what we have left, we've gotta work with that.
Would love to see some marketing, I'm certainly on that boat. After 4.2 comes around, I think AWI would be in a prime time to start some sort of marketing venture.
Correction
"...waning community interest..." should be "...waning community population...". Everything always comes back to this... and there's no way around it until AWI starts marketing the universe.
