This Week in AW! To June 17th.

Welcome to This Week in AW! To June 17th!

The Owl and Moose it is! Robbie won the 3-month citizenship extension for his winning name, which will grace the front of the English Pub at AlphaWorld ground zero! Robbie calls the name the "perfect marriage of AWian and AWTeenian culture." Some aren't so happy about the AWTeenian portion of the name.

Speaking of the AlphaWorld ground zero - 86% of AWNews voters (at writing) say they like the new GZ - and a good amount of them say they think it should be at 0n 0e. An equal amount of (very few) voters don't like the GZ, don't care, or have something else to say.

New Sofa King in Cypress Hollow. Major renovations. Visit at AWTeen 2646s 1234e.

GSK continues to confuse readers with his conceptual works. He announced in the AWForums that he was looking for a programmer to help develop a new RPG game, but some people took it as an announcement of a new, existing RPG.

Tourist? Need citizenship? Kapara may be able to help. Kapara is giving away one free 1-month citizenship per month indefinitely. As a tourist, the trick is figuring out how to telegram Kapara to enter. Good luck! Some of you may remember our 1-month citizenship giveaway, "Active Worlds Experience," headed up by former AWNews team member Redoubt.

Flagg runs so many contests not all of them are even announced in the AWNewsletter! Yet, anyway. The Active Worlds Extreme Builder Talent Show contest began Friday, June 8th. There's lots on the line, like any good AW contest! All participants who receive a grade of 4 or 5 get V4 rights in their choice of AWI public build worlds and the first three places will receive AWI credit.

Enter by e-mailing Flagg at tom@activeworlds.com or reply to this thread (Don't telegram Flagg).

AWTeen Object Path Search at AWPortals has been updated to include the latest and greatest AWTeen building materials. Get searching: http://www.awportals.com/opsearch/awteen/

Weather is a hot topic in AWTeen right now! A new system allowed for on-the-fly changes. Pictures of some of the more horrible conditions (thick, colorful ambient/directional lighting) were posted in the AWForums. While the cycles of night and day have long been issues for builders, I can absolutely agree that any discoloring of lighting has terrible effects on the appearance of builds - and I think it justifies whining!

VOTE NOW: Do you approve of dynamic weather in public build worlds?
VOTING IS ANONYMOUS. NO LOGIN REQUIRED.

Users boycotting worlds for WildAW? Due to recent censorship issues, some members of AWTeen are seeking vulgar alternatives. A new city has been established in WildAW at 660W 770W for those who wish to cuss it up!

Would YOU like a new AlphaWorld skybox? Eighty-nine percent of forum voters said yes! Among the four who said no - Flagg. Doesn't look good folks! (Flagg liked the new GZ) Voice your thoughts and votes: http://forums.activeworlds.com/showthread.php?t=7092

Inadequate documentation! Builders riled up over the lack of information on new features in the help files, and the lack of user-friendliness provided by the AWiki. It's true - it's hard to find new feature information on the Wiki... even when it's online.

s e V e n s is proposing a whole new section in the mover settings. The new "sound option" would allow a greater level of realism adding the ability to accompany cars and other types of movers with appropriate driving/riding sounds. Discuss.

Introducing article ratings! At AWNews, we pride ourselves in some of our really great articles. Tell us and the community what you think of various AWNews content simply by clicking 1-5 stars at the top of any node you see them on. Voting and results are open to all users, anonymous and authenticated.

I went to England for the

I went to England for the annual state visit this month and was pleasantly surprised to discover that being there didn’t bring up the bile in ways it has previously. I attribute this to the fact that I only stayed two weeks, and last went over 12 months ago. England is better in small doses. Like Wasabi sauce, or Alaa El Aswany [when was he nominated Egypt’s official spokesman ccna wireless exactly?].The prolonged absence made everything a bit fresher I suppose, even if the rows and rows of terraced houses we descended over did remind me of prison wings.I was unable to look out of the window too much because of the presence next to it of a South African lady of an indeterminable age who spent the flight alternately taking unsmiling photographs of herself looking out of the window ponderously, and doing Afrikaans word searches. Since I had got up at 6 a.m. I was obviously beyond word formation, and something about her cheerful smile ccna and carefully-labelled rucksack told me that there would in any case be no such thing as a short chat with this woman. I was unwilling to be dragged into the skydive of an untrammelled conversation and quickly fell into a deep, dribbling, sleep.Only to awake to find the woman straddling me. I imagine that somewhere there might exist a person who dreams of suddenly finding himself thus encumbered with a portly South African lady on a plane, but up until I was mcse exams jerked out of my slumber, eye-level with a crotch, I had not realised just how high it was on my list of nightmare situations.“It’s all right!” she said cheerily, smiling the perma-smile and rubbing me on my arm as she attempted to squeeze her way over/through my seat on her way to the toilets. It distinctly wasn’t all right, but the terror of it all had temporarily robbed me of an ability to speak. When we entered British air space she knocked me on the shoulder – interrupting my viewing of ‘What Happens in Vegas’ – and exclaimed, “Look at the pretty little snowflakes on the glass! CAN YOU SEE THEM???

Fixed.

Flagg will be a happy man

It's a conspiracy I tell you.

I bet you he had the filter added to AWTeen simply so people would up shop and head over to WildAW.
