Why User Blogs are a Good Idea

Besides resolving some annoying issues like the blank page that appeared every few pages (no, it wasn't just you), AWI systems administrator Martin also decided to add blogging functionality to the vBulletin software.
Not long after the release Martin chimed in on AWRadio's The Goober Zone, revealing that the blogs were a spontaneous decision between himself and Flagg.
Checking In On Yellow

We see it every day, and often we work and build among it. Ruins of projects built years ago stand proud in many of our aging worlds, the masterpieces of users who once held a place of prestige in our community have now become quaint and outdated testaments to our lasting history. Once vibrant community centers that are far beyond their prime now echo silently, and many of these places go months - even years - without visitors.

Citing a lack of help or community interest, the event has been called into question this year, and Andras is reaching out for feedback concerning the matter.
Technology Celebration '08 Recap

NewEra world held a steady 70 guests through the duration of the event. The celebration was primarily grounds for technical experts to announce and promote their AW-related works. Included is a recap of what each presenter brought to the event.
Incumbent Victory in February AWTeen Elections

After an exciting month of campaigning, debating, and discussion, the results of the AWTeen Elections are in! Announced on the AWTeen Election Forums by Flagg, the winner of the February elections were revealed to be Mark Randall, known in AW as Strike Rapier. Mark is the incumbent governor of AWTeen, leading the world since November, 2007 after winning the first AWTeen Elections. Continuing much in the trend of his last term, he will now also lead AWTeen through a newly extended term of six months, with a new tool under his belt: Global Bots.
February 08 AlphaWorld Object Path Update
Submitted by maki on Tue, 2008-02-26 02:01.February brings the introduction of hundreds of new and updated objects to the AlphaWorld object path that builders can use immediately. The update is made possible by Flagg and several citizen volunteers who contributed to the collection.
Citizen Kenneth, who provided transparent objects, has created an object yard where you can view the objects. This yard is located in AlphaWorld at 19046.49N 2025.98E 0.00a 179.

AWTeen Elections Begin

As if on cue, four people declared their candidacy to AWTeen Governor yesterday, two days less than a month until the new governor takes office. Some of the candidates came as a surprise to many, and others said that they would run only if Mark decided not to. Mark has not yet officially announced intentions to run, however it is predicted that he will.
Of course, GC declared that he would be running, which came as no surprise to most people. He only outlined a short and vague platform in his announcement, but one that would come with big changes to AWTeen nonetheless. The biggest change GC wishes to make for the world is
The 2007 Cy Awards
Submitted by maki on Sun, 2007-11-18 02:02.After an ominous world lighting effect, Espilae appeared on stage and humorously welcomed the audience to the 2007 Cy Award ceremony. He introduced Cy leader Lady TeaL, who got the show underway.
Attendance peaked around 200. Here are the results of the 2007 Cy Awards.
